Research

Lymphoma UK are proud to be working in partnership with The University Of Southampton and The Centre For Cancer Immunology on developing groundbreaking new treatments for those affected by lymphoma blood cancer.

Our relationship with the Centre goes back many years and we have seen first hand the fantastic work being carried out by the team in the laboratories and the exciting and promising results coming from its clinical trials.

Since 2020 we have invested thousands of pounds into lymphoma research.

What research are we funding?

Lymphoma UK is currently funding a Phase II trial called ACCEPT.

ACCEPT is a clinical cancer trial that looks into ctDNA of patients with lymphoma, testing to see how effective new types of treatments are at a much earlier stage. This trial and the data collected from the help of your donations has already been so successful that a much larger trial called REMoDL-A has now been undertaken. The results from the ACCEPT study, including the ctDNA results, are in the final stages of being written up and should be published shortly.

What is the Centre for Cancer Immunology?

The Centre for Cancer Immunology is the UK’s first centre dedicated to immunotherapy research.

“Immunotherapy” is a groundbreaking development in cancer research which looks to harness the power of the body’s immune system to detect and ultimately destroy lymphoma cancer cells.

It is led by Professor Peter Johnson, lymphoma expert.
